Exmos senhores,
I am writing to file a formal complaint against the car rental company Centauro regarding an unjustified damage charge applied to a vehicle I rented in Portugal on April 23.
The vehicle in question was a Nissan Juke, license plate BH36SA. After returning the car, the company claimed that a scratch on the front right wheel rim had appeared during the rental and proceeded to charge me €600 for damage.
However, I have attached dated photographs taken at the time of collection, which show that the alleged damage was already present when I received the vehicle.
Furthermore, the image provided by Centauro does not clearly show the damage, nor does it offer any evidence that the damage occurred during my rental period. In fact, it is impossible to determine the timing or severity of the alleged damage based on the photo provided.
I have already filed a complaint through the Livro de Reclamações Eletrónico, but I have received no response from the company. I am therefore requesting DECO’s assistance in ensuring that this charge is reversed and that my consumer rights are respected.
Thank you in advance for your help. I remain available for any further information you may require.
Best regards,
