My name is João Soares and I’ve recently traveled to Manchester with Ryanair, with my girlfriend (Ana Coelho) and our six months old son. We travel with a Babyzen Yoyo+ stroller, which as you may know is cabin approved since 2012. Regarding the fact that Ryanair’s simple fare doesn’t allow us to have a 52x44x18cm item on board, we’ve paid for “Priority”. Surprisingly, and after several flights with Ryanair taking the Babyzen Yoyo+ stroller with us onboard (and with other airlines too), last 12th of January 2020 (Flight FR3952 departing 20:25 from Manchester T3) one of your cabin crew members told us, with bad manners, that we cannot take a “buggy” on board. We kindly explain that our stroller is cabin approved and that we paid for Priority Boarding so that we can take an extra luggage item on board. We were constantly interrupted, she laughed at us and told us that she “didn’t care” and the stroller must be placed in the hold. Airport staff said that we were right and if we’ve paid for priority, we can take the stroller with us. Your cabin crew member was rude and told us “I have the final word, the buggy cannot stay with you in the cabin.”. We accepted the fact, the stroller was forwarded to the hold with our permission and, since we are very disgruntled with her behavior, we kindly asked her to identify herself, in order to make a complaint. “Go sit and leave me”, “I have more things to do than talk with you” and “Go to your place and after I’ll tell you my name, but not now!” were some of the things that we (and the others passengers) heard. We told her that we will not sit until knowing her name because we have the right to know it and that’s when the situation got unbelievable. She started to scream “these people are banished! Out of the plain” “I want them out of the plane!”. We cannot believe so much arrogance and prepotency in a cabin crew member, especially when she was talking with a couple with a baby - our six months old son was obviously affected by her mood and rudeness. We walked to our seats with other cabin crew members' help and the airport staff controlled the situation. Our complaint is not about the banishment, because in the end, we stayed in the airplane and flight home as we should. Our complaint is about how your cabin crew member behaved during our conversation. We are Portuguese, she is Portuguese and we both talked in Portuguese. There was no space for misunderstandings. She simply was rude with us and, when the airport staff said that we were right, began acting prepotent. We are travel bloggers, we flight every month and, sometimes, more than once a month. Most of our flights are with low-cost airlines and we use Ryanair a lot since a long time ago. Before the 12th of January, we didn’t have any complaints about Ryanair and we believe that Ryanair doesn’t agree with this cabin crew member's behavior. Everyone on the flight saw what happened and was ashamed of her behavior.Besides the refund of our priority ticket and a formal disciplinary procedure, we would also request a moral compensation for what happened and the way the cabin crew member treated us and our baby. We could only confirm her first name (when she presented the crew members at the beginning of the flight), which is Berta, but with the public information available on Linkedin and Facebook, we can assure that we are talking about Berta Flora Cardoso.Ana and I are looking forward to your response and we are certain that you will give the best attention to our complaint, preventing us to involve our lawyer in the process. This complaint was sent with the knowledge of ANAC, the APAVT client provider and Manchester Airport.Best regards,João Soares
